The Bookworm Lending Library, Gigiri
The Bookworm began as a library, and five years on it is still the heart of the place. Thousands of titles line the shelves — literary fiction in English and in translation, history, memoir and essays, crime worth staying up for, cookbooks and craft, and a children’s corner deep enough to carry a reader from picture books to their first real novel. Joining is straightforward: KSh 3,000 opens a borrowing slot, then KSh 3,000 for every three months you keep it, one book at a time — or two, if one is never enough — swapped as often as you like.
